Everest : The Other Side
The Production
A three-year journey on Everest’s rarely climbed North Face, working alongside Jim Morrison, Jimmy Chin and the Little Monster Films team.
Beginning with expeditions in 2023 and 2024, the project returned in autumn 2025 with the objective of climbing the Direct North Face through the Hornbein Couloir and documenting Jim Morrison’s ski descent.
I worked as a high-altitude cinematographer and photographer, climbing and filming through some of the most committing terrain on Everest. On October 15, 2025, our team reached the summit, where I was the only cinematographer with the climbing team at the top, continuing to document the story from high on the mountain.
The three-year project became Everest: The Other Side, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin and produced by National Geographic Documentary Films and Little Monster Films.
My role
High-Altitude Cinematographer & Photographer
The work
High-altitude cinematography and expedition photography across three seasons on Everest’s North Face. Filming while climbing through technical terrain, documenting the expedition from the mountain to the summit, managing camera equipment in extreme conditions, and capturing the final 2025 summit and ski-descent story.
